Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKC), in Village Banara, District Cuttack, is a primary healthcare center which provides essential medical facilities to more than 5000 villagers of Damapada Tahasil and neighboring villages.  With the aim of providing medical help to the needy, JKC organizes free medical camps. On December 24th, 2018, an eye camp was conducted for villagers of all age groups.

The camp was aimed towards eliminating preventable blindness and creating awareness about the importance of such regular eye check-ups. Blindness is a colossal problem in India, which unfortunately is home to the largest blind population in the world.

JKC has an Eye wing established last year in collaboration with JPM Cuttack Eye Hospital and Research Institute which is a state-of-the-art eye institute based in Cuttack, Odisha, that provides comprehensive eye care services.

The JKC medical staff and ophthalmic assistants performed:
1. Primary Vision Tests
2. Tension and duct examination for people above 40.
3. Refraction tests
4. Provided necessary medication
5. Recommended surgery where required, to the nearby eye hospital.

The commitment of the JKYog volunteers and JKC staff made this camp a success by putting their time and efforts to revive the gift of sight to numerous needy villagers who cannot afford such checkups due to lack of resources and awareness.
